'TEE THREADS' at AFWL.

My friend Tomilola Dada is the creative designer behind the label 'TEE THREADS' which she describes as 'a minimalist's delight'. The elegant lady hails from Ekiti, the city of the tough! (use any other word at your own expense), with a degree in Computer Science from Babcock University. This had no hold on her as she totally follows her passion and started her fashion career in 2007. Tee Threads' signature styles interprets a minimalist''s vision of sophistication through immaculate cuts, finicky selection of quality fabrics and the creation of creatively glamorous outfits. Tomi is one of the few people I had  so much respect for at fashion school. There was always something to learn from her being my 'oga' in the industry and inspite of the fact that our style aesthetics are clearly different, we still share same views on most things and we click just like that. Personally, I find her sense of style pretty amazing because inasmuchas it is mostly simple, it still has its very fashionable and up-to-date feel. It will be a proper definition for 'less is much'.

Tee threads label was presented on the runway of Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) last August, at Spitalfields Market where the 'Afromarine' collection was launched/showcased. In her words, '' The root word 'Afro' represents my African inspiration denoted by black fabrics used mostly in this collection which is typically African skin colour and 'Marine' scientifically refers exclusively to seawater environments denoted by sea green background of the Ankara fabrics used throughout. The collection can be said to be inspired by the beauty of Africa's sea and culture.
